Enclosed below is the PEIG dataset (Partisan Electoral Interventions by the Great-powers) version 2.0. This is the version of the dataset as submitted to CMPS. It includes all known U.S. and Soviet/ Russian partisan electoral interventions, both covert and overt, which had occurred between January 1, 1946 and December 31, 2014. Version 2.0 of PEIG expands the temporal coverage of PEIG into much of the Post-Cold War era and checks for possible unconfirmed or undetected cases in the period covered by PEIG 1.01, leading to an expanded PEIG 2.0 dataset with a 25.5% increase in temporal coverage and a 37.4% increase in the overall number of partisan electoral intervention cases compared to PEIG 1.01.
The zip file includes the dataset, the codebook, a list of intervention cases, Appendixes A & B of the CMPS paper (with additional definitions and explanations about PEIG). You can access the dataset after filling out the download form below (to be used only for informing users about future updates to PEIG and for informing me about possible directions for future further updates of it).
